International Women’s Day
The Women in Sport Community, as well as their counterparts and Allies within the industry, participated in a shared discussion and insight-led forum, towards developing a more diverse, inclusive and equitable sports industry.
Hosted at the prestigious home of the AELTC, Wimbledon, which featured a panel session that doubled as a live podcast with Katie Shaw, Global Head of Brand, Entourage Sports & Entertainment, Manisha Tailor, Founder of Swaggarlicious & Assistant Head of Academy, Queens Park Rangers FC, and Chris Ramsey, Technical Director, Queens Park Rangers FC.
New York Edition
For our return to the United States in May 2022, we brought together our US-based Community members to partake in an afternoon of shared discussion and insight towards developing a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable sports industry. The event was hosted at Meta’s New York City offices and featuring a panel session that doubled as a live podcast with Lindsay LaBennett, Senior Director, EDI, Wasserman and Brandon Thompson, VP, D&I, NASCAR.
Pride Month
Took place at the Royal Oak, in The Emirates Stadium, the Pride Month Pop-up Edition of the Diversity Club, celebrated and brought to discussion the progress made in LGBTQ+ sport representation, and how organisations can now put meaningful action behind positive statements to effect sustainable inclusion for the future. Featuring a panel with Toby Sawyer, Diversity & Inclusion Specialist, Management Futures, Susannah Townsend MBE, Head of Growth, Evolve, Jamie Dapaah, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, Fulham F.C and Erin Williams, Sport Programmes Manager, Stonewall.
Black History Month
In marking Black History Month, we took a visionary spin on proceedings and presented Black Future Month. A visionary, forward-looking spin on celebrations of Blackness through the perspective of all intersections of the black community and representing a vision of society that invest in people and community.
The afternoon’s discussion and content was centered on visualizing the kind of infrastructure we need and want, creating space to strategize and deal with barriers, and in turn focusing less on limitations. Hosted at Meta’s Brock Street, London office and featured; Liseli Sitali, Head of Marketing, Sky Sports, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, Team GB Captain, and Drew Christie, Chair, BCOMs.
